  1. Gems & Streak Freezes

    Latest

    v1.4.0 · July 2026

A brand new reward economy for registered players. Solve riddles to earn gems, then spend them in the shop to protect your streak. Gems and streak freezes are only available to users with registered accounts.

    • Earn gems every time you solve the daily riddle — the fewer guesses you use, the bigger the reward (30 gems for a first-guess win, down to 5 for a sixth-guess win).
    • An animated reward appears on the completion screen so you can see exactly what you earned.
    • Streak freezes are now buyable in the shop for 300 gems. A freeze automatically covers a missed day so your current streak survives.
    • Frozen days show a blue indicator on your profile, and a snowflake badge appears beside your name on the leaderboard when you have a freeze ready.
    • Top up your gem balance from the gem store with packs from £2.50 up to £20.00.
    • Gems and streak freezes are only available to users with a registered account. Guest players can still solve riddles and join challenges, but will be prompted to sign up before they can collect or spend gems.
  2. Challenge Improvements

    v1.3.0 · July 2026

Team challenges got smarter scoring, clearer statuses and easier day-to-day management.

    • Daily points are now awarded automatically to the fastest team each day, with no dependency on every team finishing.
    • Tiebreakers added: fastest time, then fewest guesses, then who finished first.
    • Teams that never opened a riddle show as “Not started” instead of DNF, and a new “I give up” option records a DNF properly.
    • Hosts can edit a challenge start date and the whole riddle schedule follows it.
    • Completed challenges open the standings by default and celebrate the winning team.
  3. Streaks & Leaderboard Polish

    v1.2.0 · June 2026

Better streak tracking and a leaderboard that tells you where you stand.

    • Streaks now count any attempted riddle, win or lose, so taking part is what matters.
    • A flame badge marks players with an active streak.
    • Your own position is always shown at the bottom of the leaderboard, even outside the top 10.
    • Failed riddles now reveal the answer on the results screen.
  4. Team Challenges

    v1.1.0 · May 2026

Create private riddle challenges, invite friends or colleagues and compete as teams.

    • Host a challenge with AI-generated riddles built around any theme.
    • Invite links, team creation and a shared team play page.
    • Live standings with per-day results and completion times.
    • One team per player per challenge, for both signed-in and guest players.
  5. riddle.today Launch

    v1.0.0 · April 2026

One new riddle every midnight. Six guesses. One word.

    • The daily riddle with six guesses and letter-by-letter feedback.
    • Player profiles with current streak, best streak and total solved.
    • A global leaderboard and the ability to submit your own riddles.
